What training courses do you offer?
At Leicestershire Motorcycle Training we offer a full range of training from CBT, A1, A2, DAS(Direct Access) test courses to full licence refresher and advanced riding courses and training holidays.
Do I need to provide my own bike or scooter?
We provide training bikes for CBT, test courses and refresher courses. You have to have your own bike for the advanced riding courses and training holidays.
Do I need a UK Driving licence?
You will need either a UK full car/provisional licence or a EU full car licence and D91 “certificate of registration” from the DVLA to be able to take a CBT or ride on L plates in the UK. If you have a full EU member state motorcycle licence issued in another EU state then this is valid for the refresher or advanced riding courses and training holidays.
Can I pay at the start of training?
All courses require a deposit payment to secure dates. Balance of payment can be paid on the day for CBT and over a split payment plan for test courses.
What about Refunds?
Deposit refunds are only available if courses are cancelled giving at least 21 days notice. If payment has been made by card there will be an handling charge to process the refund, this is 3% of the total refund with a minimum charge of £2.50. Training holiday costs are not refundable once paid but Leicestershire Motorcycle Training may consider refunds where there are exceptional circumstances.
Can I change a booking or cancel at any time?
Bookings can be cancelled at any time subject to refund policy. Amendments can be made but may incur further charges which will be made clear at the time.
What is included in the course fee?
All but the advanced riding and training holiday course costs include bike hire, helmet, jacket, gloves, waterproofs, training, test fees and certification. The advance riding courses includes training costs only. The advanced training holiday costs include training, ferry/eurotunnel and accommodation.
What bikes do you use for training?
We use Peugeot VClic scooters and Honda CG125 bikes for our CBT courses. The Honda CG125 is used for the A1 test course and the Yamaha XJ6N for the A2 or DAS (direct access) course. The XJ6N is also used for the refresher training.
What bikes do the instructors use?
Currently our instructors ride the Honda ST1300 Pan European.
Are there additional costs?
Only where a rider fails a Mod 1, Mod 2 or theory test will there be further costs to re take the test.
